Online telecon notes for 5/22/02.
Attending:
This was the first of the planned weekly Online meeting. We spent the first 15 minutes or so trying to figure out why no one was calling in and trying to reach those we were expecting to call in. When that failed, we turned the telecon phone off and discussed test-stands.
Larry asked about test-stand hardware configuration and schedule. Mike explained that more TEMs are being fabricated and will be available in the July/August time frame. Front-end electronics (of any kind) are harder to come by and are not under the control of ELX. With some inconvenience to ELX and Online, we may be able to share the few units we have at SLAC. The TEM stimulator, being built by HEPL, is currently in the design phase and is not expected to be delivered until the fall some time.
Eduardo and Larry brought up the question of how the Online system interacts with the environmental test EGSE (M. Lovellette) that will measure accelerations, temperatures, etc. that are not part of the standard Online data stream. Eduardo would like to be able to correlate the three data streams (instrument register data, event data and environmental test data) with one second accuracy. There was some confusion about what environmental quantities are monitored by the TEM. Mike responded that many of these are located in the PDU (Power Distribution Unit). If these quantities are important for a particular test, that information needs to be fed back to Gunther for scheduling PDU production. None of us are currently involved with the PDU, so can't say when it will be available.
Selim announced that he has the LabVIEW interface working with the SCL RTE running in VxWorks.
