Online telecon notes for June 26, 2002.
Attending:
- Zhigang Wang (UCSC/TKR)
- Connie Houchens (GSFC/ACD)
- Jim La (GSFC/ACD)
- Byron Leas (NRL/CAL)
- JJ Russell (SLAC/FSW)
- Mike Huffer (SLAC/ELX)
- Larry Wai (SLAC/I&T-IFCT)
- Eduardo do Couto e Silva
(SLAC/I&T-SVAC)
- Selim Tuvi
(SLAC/I&T-Online)
- Ric Claus (SLAC/I&T-Online),
minutes author
- Python/HippoDraw (data visualization package) interaction work in
progress (Selim)
- Got a proof-of-concept example based on UDP interaction with SCL
working
- Modifications to the core release in support of latest TKR
register model
- Found and fixed some ACD GARC & GAFE registers were 32 bits
instead of the correct 16 bits
- Removed some superfluous fields from other records
- Online is ready to commission the SCL TKR interface, but we were
waiting for hardware until this morning
- Curt to verify functionality of the repaired TKR hardware before handing
it over to Online
- Upcoming core work will be in support of the GTIC (environmental
quantities, etc.) interface
- Some progress was made on event data distribution, but still
incomplete
- Some progress was made on message logging, but still incomplete
- Some progress was made on the Online ICD with subsystems, but
still not finished
- Continuing discussions with ICS on how to solve the SCL/LabVIEW
performance problem
- Problems in SCL identified
- Solution uncovered a bug that is being addressed
- Electronics status – Mike
- New COMM boards received from the manufacturer, Curt to test
- New version of TEM document to be published late today or
tomorrow
- No changes to CAL portion
- Changes concentrated in TKR and TIC areas
- Current TEMs don’t support TIC interface
- New TEMs still in layout.
Again predicting completion at end of this week
- LCB concept complete
- LCB replaces the COMM board(s)
- A version of this board will be used for flight
- LCB design discussion will be had during next Tuesday’s weekly
ELX meeting (1:45 PST)
- Cabling needs rationalization
- Progress on AEM electronics is believed to be on target
- SLAC is responsible for test cables
- Cable configuration to be described in ELX memo out next week
- Eduardo not ready to discuss calibration scripts
- Postponed to next week, maybe
- Requests Zhigang to be in contact with Luca
- ACD progress (Connie and Jim)
- Connie is implementing scripts requested by Glen Ungar
- Confusion on VxWorks code modularity
- No symbol table in text form is loaded on the embedded system to
text to ID conversions are not available
- Connie is working on setting up rules and constraints for the ACD
- Connie is about to start some LabVIEW work for ACD
- The hardware register access problem of last week hasn’t been
further addressed
- The ACD ICD that is being worked to is the new one that combines
both mechanical and electrical information, doc. number unclear
- Mike requests that Connie tries to take an event to verify that
that portion of the system works satisfactorily
- CAL progress (Byron)
- Got the Python/SCL bridge accessing CAL registers and is able to
take date with it
- Observed that SCLviewer sometimes gets lost
- Will try to characterize this intermittent problem
- Noticed that RESET commands to the GCCC messes up the event
stream with calstrobe triggers
- Resulting events are off by one
- Will try to characterize this and get back to Online and ELX
- Noticed that there are ~0.5 second delays in receiving data from
the tmout socket
- Wonders whether related to the LabVIEW/VxWorks performance
problem
- Not clear at this point
- TKR progress (Zhigang)
