Online telecon notes for September 4,
2002
Attending:
- Connie Houchens (GSFC/ACD)
- Sharon Orsborne (GSFC/ACD)
- Jim La (GSFC/ACD)
- Mike Huffer (SLAC/ELX)
- JJ Russell (SLAC/FSW)
- Eduardo do Couto e Silva
(SLAC/I&T-SVAC)
- Larry Wai (SLAC/I&T-IFCT)
- Selim Tuvi
(SLAC/I&T-Online)
- Ric Claus
(SLAC/I&T-Online), minutes author
Topics:
- ACD (Connie)
- Submitted scripts to Online
- Documentation on the EU scripts needs updating to make it
compliant with the ACD ICD
- Studying Python
- Ric to post titles of books on Python, etc. that Online found
useful
- Connie asked about needing Visual Studio on the test stand
workstation in order to compile C++ generated by Qt
- Jim asked whether there are any software components subsystems
should expect to buy when we transition to the follow-on-to-SCL system,
e.g. Visual Studio, Qt Pro, etc.
- Ric responded that Online would supply all required packages for
the new system
- Jim asked whether subsystems should continue with the SCL based
system
- Ric responded that that should most certainly be done. No decision has as yet been taken on
a potential follow-on system. We
await reaction to a follow-on system proposal to which SCL scripts will
be more or less easily translatable.
- ACD (Jim)
- Glen (ACD/ELX) is not ready to hand over ASICs for testing with
Connie’s scripts
- Expects hand-over to happen in a couple of weeks
- Mike points out there are packaging issues with the RC and FE
ASICs of all types, so testable parts are in extremely short supply
- CAL (Byron)
- Byron was not able to attend the meeting so his e-mailed progress
report is inserted verbatim here:
1. Successfully tested Selim's fix for the NT
Bitfield problem.
2. Successfully tested Selim's telemetry
synchronization SCL variable using his test procedure.
3. Working to implement Selim's telemetry
synchronization method into Dan Wood's telemetry routine. Having some problems calling Selim's
routines; setEvtCallbackFunc and evHandlerTEM_SCL. Need to get the prototype definitions for these routines...the
definitions I made temporarily don't seem to work.
4. Working on upgrading the CAL regression test
to include TEM and CC registers.
- Selim has responded to Byron’s third point by sending him the
function prototypes
- TKR (Zhigang)
- Zhigang was not able to attend the meeting. His e-mailed progress report is as
follows:
- last week, I still worked on
the test for the new version front-end chips.
- I am eager to get the new
test stand system as soon as possible.
- ELX (Mike)
- No progress on the AEM.
Still on target for completion in late fall.
- TEM testing is on hold
- TEM and PSA enclosure bid completed
- Transition and PSA boards are in layout. Expect a couple of weeks until the
arrival of the first unit.
- LCB board is awaiting a new engineer to come on board and get up
to speed
- Curt is in the process of validating the TKR FE ASICs
- CAL AFEE boards have been received last Friday. An RC and 2 FE previous generation
ASICs will be loaded for testing.
- Core Online (Ric and Selim)
- The Test Executive Trade Study was discussed
- Subsystem feedback is requested by next Monday
- Spacecraft vendor announced: SpectrumAstro
- The calibration scripts listed in Eduardo’s signed-off
Calibration document discussed
- CAL and TKR scripts were to be delivered to Online from
subsystems at the end of July
- New date is September 25.
Once blessed by Online, the scripts go to IFCT/Larry for
production testing
