Online telecon notes for September
18, 2002
Attending:
- Connie Houchens (GSFC/ACD)
- Sharon Orsborne (GSFC/ACD)
- Jim La (GSFC/ACD)
- Byron Leas (NRL/CAL)
- Dave Nelson (SLAC/TKR, ELX)
- Curt Brune (SLAC/ELX-FSW)
- Mike Huffer (SLAC/ELX)
- Larry Wai (SLAC/I&T-IFCT)
- Selim Tuvi
(SLAC/I&T-Online), minutes author
- Ric Claus
(SLAC/I&T-Online)
Topics:
- Core (Ric, Selim):
- Jim La: 3 instances of partial hardware delivered.
- Ric: Test executive software (TESW) decision may take up to a
month from now.
- Byron and Dave Nelson are doing tests on the TESW.
- Dave: TKR would like access to the event error data. Selim is working on it
- Mike: Need to make sure that everyone is conscious of the error
data and that it gets looked at.
Don’t get into the habit of ignoring it and assuming that all
operations worked.
- Multiple command, monitor and event clients
- Only one commanding client should be in charge.
- Multicasting solution vs. dedicated socket design
- Running event handling and commanding in separate process as well
as interleaving them is currently possible.
- Selim has a simulation mode just about ready. Events from a file are distributed
just like events from hardware allowing data analysis scripts to be
written and tested. Expecting to
complete it in about a week.
- Platform dependency & archiving.
- Jim La: ACD would like use of the new TESW, when can ACD get
their hands on it? AEM event walker not ready yet but commanding to the
bud box is possible. Current version will be delivered to them today or
tomorrow. Current version does
not yet support rules, constraints and EGU conversion.
- ELX (Mike, Dave):
- TEM
- The 17 new TEMs have some problems. The job to fix them has been subcontracted out.
- How to test the new TEM.
- AEM
- No new progress but Mike is keeping a close eye on it.
- Mark provides sysadmin role for engineering which takes up his
time.
- FREE board required before AEM is useful.
- PSA
- Out for layout
- PSA box is ready for fab – Done in 2-3 weeks
- 28V spacecraft power supply solution found
- Transition board
- Out to fab
- Due next Monday
- Curt working on software for it
- LCB
- Sandra (engineer) working on the design
- Curt working on the FSW driver for it
- GLT
- Mike trying to finish up the specs
- Starting weekly meeting to discuss testing of TKR components
- Jim: AEM and new test stands come together?
- Not necessarily. New
test stands will be delivered to CAL and TKR as soon as they’re
available. ACD will get theirs
when AEM is ready, since there is no benefit to early delivery.
- TKR (Dave)
- Working with the new TESW. Conversion from SCL is going quickly.
- Qt panels are coming together.
- Saw problem in which compares were failing, first in SCL, now
with the new system
- Currently a mystery although we’re trying to lay a trap for it
- Curt beat on it pretty heavily from the VxWorks side and didn’t
see it
- CAL (Byron)
- GLT, GTIC fixes received from Selim
- Mike, GTIC changes on the new TEMs will affect TKR
- Testing AFEE and new RC and FE
- See various problems
- Mike: We saw problems with AFEE as well and notified Jim Ampe. Is he communicating with Byron about
the problems? Recommendation is
that NRL not pursue AFEE testing until things are straightened out on
the SLAC end. Analog behaviour
of the new board is being looked at.
- Working on the test procedure document.
- Working with the new C&T system ( = TESW)
- Warned about C&T<->Spacecraft compatibility issues
- CAL regression test being converted to new TESW.
- ACD (Connie, Sharon, Jim)
- Connie working with Qt & python. Ordered some books.
- EU conversion, new scripts to be submitted
- Jim La: Internal CDR for ACD at Goddard October 29th.
- When can ACD get a copy of the Python based system?
- Will ship today or tomorrow with caveats mentioned above
