Topics:
- ACD (Jim, Connie, Sharon, Glenn):
- GAFE problems encountered during the workshop have been resolved
- Online and ELX/FSW groups requests an identical copy of the test
set-up used by Connie and Sharon
- Glenn to arrange the following for Online
q GARC tester board with appropriate rev of the
GARC chip
q GAFE tester (simulator?) board with the
appropriate rev of the GAFE chip
q Cables to connect same
q Schematics
- SLAC may already have a copy of the GARC tester board
q Ric to check whether it is of the appropriate
rev
- Discussion of how trigger and veto signals are handled
- New COMM card firmware and software to handle external trigger
signal forthcoming
- Connie is working with GARC tester V1
- Connie asked whether Online was still planning to provide the
capability to load and configure EGUs from the schema and configuration
XML files
- That is the plan, yes.
Selim will work on it for the next release
- Sharon is working with Qt GUI interface
- Jim requests 2 Qt licenses for Connie and Sharon
- Ric asked whether it might be useful for the Online group to look
at Bob Baker’s EGSE code and LabVIEW screens for gathering information on
what the ACD is looking for in an Online system
- Glenn said he would be happy to post it or e-mail it to us
- ELX (Curt):
- Mike on vacation for about a month
- Architecture IIa:
- Component delivery delayed until at least November 19
- Assembly and testing required
- Probably won’t ship before Mike gets back
- Working with Byron and Jim Ampe on new CAL RCs
- CAL (Byron):
- Testing the new RC code
- Working with schema/configuration files
- TKR (Luca):
- Starting to learn the system
- Got interaction with hardware going
- Studying previous work done by Dave Nelson and UCSC
- Plan to provide generic low level functional tests
- Later will develop tower tests
- Larry asked whether these tests will be specific to the EM test
- No. Intend the tests to
be useable on the CU
- Larry asked whether Luca will be at SLAC for the delivery of the
TKR EM test unit on Jan. 15, ‘03
- Luca wasn’t sure yet, but expects to be here for the EM test
proper
- Ric understands that Johann Cohen-Tenugi will be here for the
Jan. 15 delivery
- Luca has been road testing Hippodraw and found that it crashes
- Byron asked whether it might be due to a version problem
q Don’t think so as Luca is working with the
latest available Windows release
- Ric asked that he keeps Paul Kunz informed
- IFCT (Larry):
- Got Hippodraw up and running
- Investigating pyfits package
- Core (Selim, Ric):
- Selim found a message logging package that looks to be very
fitting for Online’s needs
- Selim will construct some examples
- Online will probably include it in the next release
- Byron pointed out that a message class is still needed for
centralizing message definitions
- Selim has restored the ability to acquire event data in an
asynchronous process
- Selim has modified the GGLT bit field functions to use Curt’s
interface
- Selim is working on adding two new nodes in the hierarchy: GPDU
and GTWR for the Power Distribution Unit and Tower (but not TEM) related
items, respectively
- Selim will augment the GLAT record with additional registers
- A/B redundant path switching
- Monitoring ADCs
- Statistics
- Selim will update the GTIC record according to the latest TEM
document (released yesterday)
- Ric has been working on an event data class for Byron’s and the Offline’s
(SAS) needs
- Ric has been working on Run Control as discussed in the workshop
- Hoping to get a release out in ~2 weeks
- Other business:
- Byron asked whether he could submit other useful packages for
posting on the Online web site
- Selim said that he would be happy to post such submissions
- Byron asked about CAL’s request to be able to purposely send
badly constructed LATp packets to the TEM
- Can currently do this by coding against Curt’s interface in
VxWorks
- Will consider moving this capability into the Online system
- Byron alerted Online to requirements that CAL has for an external
trigger and data
- Larry and Luca pointed out the need for an external trigger in
the EM test
- Jim asked how ACD should be preparing for the CU given delivery
of the ACD in June ‘03
- Time seems early since CU is April ’04. Perhaps 6 month slip not included in
the delivery date?
- Scripts and screens being delivered since delivery of the Online
in April ’02 should be runnable in the CU environment
- We’ll clarify the needs as time goes on
