Monte Carlo Simulated Data

For all configurations there are two directories. The 'batch' directory contains all the individual files,

including job options and log files. The main directory  contains concatenated Merit, SVAC, digi, recon

and mc root files. All MC samples are made with real calibration constants. Please make sure you use

the same release for MC and data when making comparisons.

Only events with a non-zero trigger word (GltWord) is written out to the ntuples and root files. Note that for samples

with the ACD in the geometry the ACDL bit in the trigger word is set as soon as any tile is hit and the event is subsequently

written out. This happens even when there is no TKR, CAL LO and/or CAL HI trigger in the event.

Also note that for practical reasons I make a bunch of small runs that I merge into single files. Each run has a different and unique Run ID. Unfortunately, the event ID in each run starts at 0 i.e. the event ID alone is not unique. You have to use the combination RunID-EventID.

GlastRelease v13r6p1:

Four million events were generated. Ntuples and Root files for the full sample can be found in the '4M' files. The 'batch' subdirectory contains all the individual ntuples and root files (as long as we have enough disk space).

Full LAT surface muons: Files can be found here.

EngineeringModel v8r1109p12:

Four million events were generated. Merit and SVAC ntuples for the full sample can be found in the '4M' files.

Full LAT (16 towers + ACD) surface muons: Files can be found here. (Note that the 'batch' directory is only available through NFS - see below for the path).

EngineeringModel v6r070329p28:

Four million events were generated. Merit and SVAC ntuples for the full sample can be found in the '4M' files. I also remind you that the 'batch' subdirectory contains all the individual ntuples and root files. The MC was made using calibrations that are representative of the April '06 LAT SVAC muon runs. The ACD Veto threshold was set to 0.3 MIPs. Note that the April data also contains runs with 0.1 MIPs (see here).

This MC also uses the new and correct flight gain CAL calibration files which were used to reprocess LAT 70x runs 077003051-077003475.

EngineeringModel v6r070329p16:

I also remind you that the 'batch' subdirectory contains all the individual ntuples and root files. The MC was made using calibrations that are representative of the April '06 LAT SVAC muon runs. The ACD Veto threshold was set to 0.3 MIPs. Note that the April data also contains runs with 0.1 MIPs (see here).

Bug! The CAL LO threshold was set to 15-20 MeV instead of 100 MeV.

Fixed! This has been fixed as of 07.17.2006 and all the MC files have been regenerated with the correct CAL LO threshold of 100 MeV. Please download the new files.

ARCHIVED! The files have been archived. Please contact me if you need them!

Four million events were generated. Merit and SVAC ntuples for the full sample can be found in the '4M' files. I also remind you that the 'batch' subdirectory contains all the individual ntuples and root files. The MC was made using calibrations that are representative of the January '06 LAT SVAC muon runs. The SVAC ntuples have been reprocessed to fix the ACD tileID=0 bug.

Bug! The CNO threshold was set to 10.5 MIPs while the data used 30 MIPs.

EngineeringModel v5r0703p5:

The SVAC ntuple has been made with the CAL MIP finder variables and with ACD information, including the ACD-TKR intersection variables.

Four million events were generated. Merit and SVAC ntuples for the full sample can be found in the '4M' files. For people prefering smaller files and/or who don't need the full statistics there are also ntuples with the first 1M events ('1M' files). I also remind you that the 'batch' subdirectory contains all the individual ntuples and root files.

Note that this release has not been validated yet and should only be used to start preparing the full LAT data analysis.

The SVAC ntuple has been made with the CAL MIP finder variables and with ACD information, including the ACD-TKR intersection variables.

Due to a faulty calibration file there is no ToT in tower 15.

EngineeringModel v5r0702p6: Bug in the SVAC ntuple. Please use EngineeringModel v5r0702p6 instead.

Note that this release has not been validated yet and should only be used to start preparing the full LAT data analysis.

The SVAC ntuple has been made with ACD information, including the ACD-TKR intersection variables.

The SVAC ntuple has a bug when there are more than 10 TKR-ACD intersections (memory overwrite).

EngineeringModel v5r0608p7:
