Vrvs chat about immediate plans for the stand-alone MC. These notes are a little random… let me know if I got something wrong.

Present: Francesco, Benoit, Heather, Riccardo, Leon, Toby, did I miss anyone?

Francesco: We can use info from the previous AGILE tests in the same beam, to update geometry and beam parameters. Also perhaps use the data itself to verify G4. We should start from the existing geometry in the current PS code.

For the SPS, we probably need to validate G4.  Also will need to add beamline detectors (Cerenkov counters? etc.)

We should be collecting information on the types of data we want. What are requirements? Statistics needed?

Do we want to add the mass model of CU into standalone version? Or even the detailed model?

Leon: This may be necessary if we need to study “albedo” from downstream elements in the beam. But this is likely to be a small effect. It’s not obvious how to do this and retain the separation of the “beam” from the “detector.”

Simple changes now would be replacing vacuum with air, and modifying the shape of the CU box to be the recording plane.

Benoit: what kind of ancillary data do we want? Position of electrons behind the magnet

Franz: Michaela Prest will have a list of ancillary information collected during AGILE tests: position of electrons before target, in tagger, time of event, anything else?

Benoit: Ancillary info is in a separate file, since it is collected in a different DAQ system… it will need to be merged with the Gleam output at some point.

Riccardo + Francesco will get vis stuff up, and Riccardo will look into bringing beamtest06 up on windows.
