Calibration Algorithm VRVS Meeting
12 March 04

Reviewed recent email discussions of calibration algorithm requirements for I&T CAL testing.

Sasha reported that existing algorithms as detailed in his recent email list as already written will be adapted to Xin's environment, documented and submitted to CVS by May, but probably no new algorithms (as identified in his list) will be available at that time.

Pol's pedestal (C18 algorithm) script was judged usable.  It has been included in calibGenCAL and checked in.  Changes were required in the pedestal XML file.

Eduardo agrees with Eric's comment that we do not want configuration control (in the sense of CCB action required) for calibration constants.  All agreed that we do want configuration tracking.

All agreed that on-line (i.e. GSE environment) and off-line (i.e. SAS environment) calibration algorithms would be decoupled.  Only the latter would be required as root macros.  Algorithms will not necessarily be the same.  Trending will be done within each environment but not across environments.

NRL (read Mark) will write an overall calibration plan.  This will include discussions of EM, I&T and flight calibrations and will document EM results to date (this may be split into multiple documents later).  Goal is to have a rough draft in time for the review before the CAL meeting at NRL in April.  This document will address Eduardo's request for overall documentation of CAL calibration requirements.
