GLAST Calorimeter Software Weekly Report
Week of  30 August 2004

NRL

Sasha:  Completed plans for changes to digi algorithms reflecting new calibration parameters.  Next task is changes to muon calib procedures in calibgencal.

Zach:  On leave.  Next tasks are sucking charge injection in from on-line and then adding new recon and digi code for calrespsvc.

NOTE:  new calibration data types will become the long pole pretty soon (few days).

Andrey:  Continued light attenuation studies.  Focused on muons passing through diodes, which required switching from externally triggered events to TKR triggered events.

Mark:  Collaborated with Sasha on new digi algorithms.

Suggested CAL talks for I&T mtg (~10min ea)

Sasha -- FLE X-talk and calibration
Mark -- New single CDE recon and calibration
Benoit -- CDE uniformity studies
Andrey -- Light collection studies near xtal ends
David Smith -- MIPS in diodes
Traudl -- Zero suppression studies

LLR

Pol: Completed bias correction for profile fitting.  See report here.

Benoit: I worked on the antiquenching note and looked at the trend of our low energy data.

I streamlined my heavy-ion code to make it more flexible, and checked that it worked fine with GEANT4v6.2. We expect it to include it into a beta version of GlastRelease based on G4v6.2p01 soon (should be a matter of days). Johan and Thieyry are investigating the patterns of hadronic interactions in our CERN data, which will be used to benchmark the models available with G4.

I carried on my work related to the extrapolation of trajectories from Tracker into CAL in the framework of SVAC (see my presentation at the I&T meeting on Friday).

GAM

Fred and Ericwe have finished to configure our machines and to install and run GlastRelease. Presently we are getting used with simulations ("playing" with merit nt, RootTreeAnalysis, etc.) in order to join soon Benoit's effort concerning the nuclear interaction codes and their validation through simulation vs GSI data comparison.

SLAC  Richard continues to  implement mods to digi to use calRespSvc.
