ChangeLog File

The ChangeLog file is a record of all the changes that have been made for a given package.  The ChangeLog file sits at the root of each package (ie something like 'GlastSvc/v1r8/ChangeLog').  It is simply a record of all the commits and their message.  The format is self-explanatory.

Since the contents of the Changelog come from commit messages, it is in everyone's interest to write meaningful commit messages!

* One clarification.  On unix, you will normally check out a package with the CMT command 'cmt checkout'.  This command has the feature that it does not retrieve the files that are in the root directory of a package, so it will not get the ChangeLog file.  If you desire the ChangeLog file, just do a 'cvs update' in the root directory.
