Progress Report on Tracker
Bad-Strips Calibration

I&T SVAC/SAS Meeting, 21 June 2002
Starting from the code that ran the bad-strips calibration for BTEM/BFEM,
Code now runs from TkrDigis, which will be the format of the EM tracker data (?)
Calibration job can read the short root file of TkrDigis produced by the standard Gleam test.
Sample Hit histograms:

To do:
Get Gleam to simulate a single tower instrument (EM or truncated flight model geometry), including noise hits. First try:

Implement dead and hot strips in the simulated data.
Run a large (20-40K) sample of sea-level cosmic rays (?)
Run the calibration to produce the standard ASCII file.
Verify that the correct dead/hot strips are produced.
Implement levels and make first guess at the cuts. (?)
Format the output for the database.
Question: can we really measure MIP efficiency in the EM module?
Most inefficiencies will kill the trigger.
Need tracking, and way to classify missing hits.
Signal is likely to be dominated by noise.
But -- might be worth trying just to get a handle on the algorithm.
