Present: Arache, Heather, Joanne, Richard, Thomas, Toby, Traudl
Core summary : See Toby's core status page, in which many issues are discussed.
The reworking of the flux functionality into two packages (flux and FluxSvc, the first being completely independent of Gaudi) should be used as a model for other facilities being incorporated into Gaudi. Toby will expand on this next week.
Gaudi associators: See Traudl's message for an update on her progress. The code she has written so far needs to be tested on Linux, which Thomas volunteered to do. Traudl suggested we institute a tutorials package for examples like the ones she has written.
Generic XML geometry status: See a note on this week's status in which the subtasks involved have been delineated to a somewhat greater degree than in last week's note. Many of them have been assigned to actual humans.
The current automatically-extracted list of primary constants is known to have some inaccuracies, inconsistencies, etc. All, but especially subsystem experts, are encouraged to inform Joanne of any such problems.
Coming soon: the XML description will be modified to use mm
as the default length unit. Support for the ability to specify units
explicitly in the prim
definitions will be added.
Checkout packages: Arache has had problems checking out the checkout packages. The procedure appears to halt part-way through, though not always in the same place. (Other people in other places have not encountered this problem.) Some form of timeout is suspected. Computer Center experts at both ends of the transaction will be consulted.
Analysis platform support: The question of what support is to be provided for interactive user data analysis came up in relation to Traudl's discussion of Gaudi associators. Do we need a ROOT analog? What about IDL?
