Present: Joanne Bogart, Jim Chiang, Richard Dubois, Zach Fewtrell, Warren Focke, Marco Frailis, Riccardo Giannitrapani, Navid Golpayegani, Traudl Hansl-Kozanecka, Heather Kelly, Michael Kuss, Matt Langston, Pat Nolan, James Peachey, Robert Schaefer, Alex Schlessinger, Tom Stephens, Tracy Usher
Tech Writer: (Richard) He starts next Tuesday.
VRVS: (Richard, post-meeting) SLAC now has its own reflector.
Science Tools status: (James) See his summary of newsworthy Science Tools packages. Of particular interest:
Requests for enhancements, etc., concerning any of these packages are hereby solicited.
(Richard) What about scripting? (James) It's on the list (follow the first link; under User Interface see item UI4 Command line interface) but is not in the cards for DC2.
MRvcmt: (Riccardo) Bari was an opportunity for input from users..which they did not fail to take. He and Marco are planning a redesign which eliminates many of the buttons in the left pane, leaving more room for the package list. No functionality will lost; it will be available from the menu bar. Still working on icon choices.. Newly-implemented features (still with old look) include:
There is a known bug on Windows: clean cleans everything, rather than just selected package! So far Riccardo is stymied.
FRED distribution: (Navid, Riccardo) Interface packages for external libraries needed for FRED are now in LATEST (late update from Riccardo: the CORBA library he supplied has problems; a new one is on the way). Riccardo still needs to regularize access to other needed packages, like HepRepSvc.
Pipeline: (Richard for Dan) Dan will meet with I&T folk to show them what they need to supply. He has been struggling with OPUS, even though he is at this point making very little use of it. Navid will see about replacing the remaining bits of OPUS with scripting; this should simplify Dan's development environment considerably.
rdbGui: (Joanne, Marco, Riccardo) We're just about ready for (*gasp*) a user! Documentation is well on its way. Riccardo added the last essential function (ability to redo last-inserted record). Marco just added a copy function for query results. fox library builds suitable for Linux and Windows will be available from SLAC ftp space shortly.
