GlastPolicy: (Heather for Toby) Toby has working on changes to GlastPolicy to provide a generalized mechanism for running rootcint. Heretofore, packages needing to run it have had to implement something individually. Expect a new GlastPolicy tag soon.
Random number generator: (Karl) He has a test program using the proposed scheme (multiple streams, each using a new seed per event). So far the numbers generated look suitably random, but he will investigate further to be sure. HepJamesRandom will be used for the random engine (appears to be industry standard). Some policy decisions are required before details of the new scheme can be decided. Leon pointed out that the worry of "scribbling all over existing code" is probably unwarranted. The code changes required for each random number client will be minimal in any case.
TkrReconTestSuite: (Michael) See this description of the new package, including examples of its use. It can be used to exercise the tracker reconstruction on hand-designed events, written in XML. This initial draft of the package has already turned up some areas to investigate in TkrRecon, even with very simple events. Some sort of front end to the XML format, preferably one aware of the geometry (so that, for example, it would properly account for gaps between ladders), would be a significant improvement. TkrRecon would undoubtedly do better with an energy estimate. Best option for getting this information to TkrRecon in this context, where it is undesirable to depend on the real CalRecon code, may be to add fields to the XML event description for energy and centroid.
Relational tables: (Marco) He has added a relational table to CalDigiAlg associating digis with their collections of contributing integrating hits. Where is the right place to put a test for this code? The CalDigi package and userAlg are candidates; may want to put something in both places.
ACD digis: (Heather) There is a new, more realisticAcdDigi digitization routine. It can optionally apply Poisson fluctuations and Gaussian noise. The next step involves adding in edge effects which requires setting the ACD detectors to use McPositionHits rather than McIntegratingHits. Hopefully the work on edge effects will be completed in the next few days.
FluxSvc code review: (Heather) Review report should be ready by Friday.
McParticle tree, hits: (Heather) Riccardo has added global coordinates to the position hit output.Full ROOT support is on its way. The minimal particle tree implementation is missing an access method or two needed to make it persistent. Heather will consult with Riccardo when he gets back.
