Imminent GlastRelease release: (Richard, Leon) We'll need a new GlastRelease release for DC1. As of 8AM this morning, there are a large number of packages in LATEST which appear to be ready for promotion to HEAD. See Leon's list for a minimal set to be promoted. Other suggested additions (even if mostly not required for DC1) include EbfConverter, GlastPolicy, and several packages with changed requirements files to be consistent with the new GlastPolicy. In fact there seems to be no reason not to go ahead and promote everything that looks ok in LATEST.
flux needs a small change which Sean will put in today. GlastPolicy needs a last tweak to get back debug symbols for Linux compiles by default. Xin has a little work to do on GlastRandomSvc concerning timestamps and also a bug fix to be committed. He will also think about a way (perhaps part of unit test?) to routinely test whether an event can be reproduced on demand.
Leon made a couple additional observations:
We should be promoting new tagged packages to (GlastRelease) HEAD more regularly. Some languish quite a while in LATEST for no particular reason.
Changes to Event and GlastSvc tend to cause grief because so many other packages depend on their public pieces. Whenever possible changes should be made in a backwards-compatible fashion.
Expectation is that this release, v3r3, will not be the one we use to generate the DC1 events, but should be close. We'll probably end up making another release or two for bug fixes and minor enhancements. At some point we need to get some experience with branches: doing maintenance on a supported release in parallel with development of the next release.
DC1 project file: (Richard) He has sketched out known necessary work, complete with assignees, to bring us up to mid-September, Collaboration Meeting time. Something about geometry needs to be added. It is also likely that we'll think of additions to the Create Utilities category.
Exposure/livetime: (Sean) We need to be able to save exposure/livetime information from simulation runs, both to read back into Gleam and as input to the Science Tools Exposure/Livetime database (aka D2). See his description of what has been done and of projected future work.
