Present: Heather, Ian, Joanne, Richard, Thomas, Toby, Traudl
Workshop Overview Talk: See Richard's draft at http://www-glast.slac.stanford.edu/software/core/tempstuff/theplan.ppt. Comments on any part are welcome, but especially check out slides 5, 7 and 9. Traudl asked about burst monitoring. It doesn't appear on any of these slides (yet), but should.
Core Review Plans: The workshop next week includes a Core review, to take place on Wednesday. Toby's plan for what will be presented can be found at http://www-glast.slac.stanford.edu/reviews/core/jan_2001_agenda.htm. If a person's name appears in boldface that person is expected to make a presentation on the topic at hand. There is some concern that an hour and a half will not be adequate. Richard suggested that some of the Tracker Review time might be available since Tracy and Leon probably will not need all of it.
Ongoing Work: Nothing earth-shaking to report, but there has been progress in at least the following: Gaudi 6 migration; Gaudi-produced n-tuples to ROOT n-tuples; ACD digitization; new-style xml detector description.
Gaudi Future: Gaudi is becoming an open-source project and will no longer especially belong to LHCb. Five experiments expect to use the full core package: LHCb, Atlas, Glast, Opera, and Harp. This should help in making a clean separation between core Gaudi packages and those that are specific to an experiment, however exactly who will now support and develop Gaudi may become somewhat murky.
