Present: Alex, Heather, Joanne, Karl, Leon, Richard, Sean, Toby, Tracy, Traudl
Core Report: (Toby) See details in his report.
(Heather) For the time being we will aim for moving to gcc 2.95.2. Gaudi will not compile with 3.0 (or even 2.95.3) due to its use of non-standard features.
Sean will give a report on FluxSvc at the general meeting tomorrow.
Alex has been working on scripts which will aid in disentangling problems people have in building or running.
Heather continues to assess and do the work necessary to move to Gaudi v9r0. She needed to build a new version of HTL (1.3.1.1) with gcc 2.95.2. [and she just made it available on at SLAC via ftp for early birds. Look for htl_1.2.1.1-linux-gcc2.95.2.tar.gz at ftp-glast.slac.stanford.edu/glast.u05/extlib/htl] Karl reminded us that getting HTL to work on Solaris took an extra hack before and probably will again for this new version.
Data Structures Task Force: (Leon). Here are the complete minutes. The meeting was essentially entirely taken up with a still-ongoing discussion of possible particle and vertex data structures. Toby reported on the gismo approach, the single class GParticle. Traudl presented a proposal which modifies the McParticle and McVertex classes.
DPF: (Richard) The database for this facility has been implemented in Oracle; a student is in the process of filling it.
Release Manager: (Karl) The design document is essentially done. The implementation is in progress; should be something to try by the end of this week or start of next.
Good Neighbors: (Karl) When we make changes to shared software we need to first clear it with flight. The recently-installed new version of Doxygen broke some of their scripts.
