Present: Sandhia Bansal, Joanne Bogart, Toby Burnett, Jim Chiang, Seth Digel, Richard Dubois, Dan Flath, Heather Kelly, Traudl Hansl-Kozanecka, Michael Kuss, Julie McEnery, Pat Nolan, James Peachey, Sean Robinson, Leon Rochester, Tom Stephens, Tracy Usher
Core issues and status: (Toby, James,...) See Toby's run-down of issues of interest here and follow-up on some of them below. See also how we might most effectively STEW in our own juices.
Xerces conversion status: (Joanne) Read all about Stage 2 status; the upshot is that a patched version of Xerces 2.5 which will handle our applications is available for Linux and will be built for Windows shortly. The bottleneck right now is the need to do Stage 1 conversion on remaining unconverted packages flux and classification.
EngineeringModel tag: (Heather) There is a new EngineeringModel tag based on GlastRelease v4r1, hence compatible with Redhat 9/gcc 3.2. Expect at least one more tag before it's ready for serious use.
Data formats treaty: (Richard) After discussions with Elliott, the following is close to ratification:
Calibrations for flight integration: (Richard) Met with Eduardo, Tracy and Leon on Tracker plans in this area and achieved consensus. Calorimeter is much less well understood.
Missing tower geometries: (Leon) Joanne threw together a modified but equivalent LAT description to make it easy to build geometries with an arbitrary set of towers missing. In short order Leon got Reconstruction to work for such a geometry and even (sometimes) find tracks spanning a missing tower. For the complete illustrated low-down see his presentation.
New tracker calibration services: (Leon) He discussed two new services needed for flight integration. For each plane TkrSplitSvc keeps track of which strips were read out from each of the two cables. TkrToTSvc assigns ToT gain and threshold to each strip (yes, all 884736 of them). For now the values are generated by the service; eventually they will be generated onboard and read in, probably as a form of calibration. See his write-up for lots more details and rationale.
Calibration database interface: (Joanne) Most pressing requirements are to provide an easy way for those involved in flight integration to browse the calibration metadata database, add a new entry, and add several entries conveniently. The plan (joint project with Marco and Riccardo) is to provide gui and script interfaces meeting these requirements. Work is in progress on the underpinnings; see the new package rdbModel.
OPUS support for flight integration: (Dan) See Richard's project description of work required for flight integration. The goal is to get a first pass in operation by the end of April, leaving a month to shake it down.
CMT meeting: Traudl has arranged for a VRVS meeting with Mr. CMT, Christian Arnault, Wednesday at 7:30 AM.
Core meeting proposal: (Richard) Flight integration is about to become a Big Deal for this group, but not of interest to everyone. The proposal is that some time be set aside at the end of this (weekly Core) meeting for flight integration issues, so that those not involved may depart unobtrusively, without missing anything they need to hear.
