CVS Housecleaning: (Toby, Traudl) As many as half the packages in the repository haven't been touched in a year and are not in GlastRelease. Traudl has sent messages to owners to confirm that these packages are of at most historical interest. These have been moved into 3 container directories (not container packages) which now appear at the end of the list on CVSweb. Their names are of the form z_xxx.
GlastPolicy, GaudiPolicy: (Toby, Traudl) Toby has moved all functionality we require from GaudiPolicy into GlastPolicy so that we no longer need to use GaudiPolicy in any of our packages. Traudl is checking this new GlastPolicy against the latest Gaudi release v14r0 and the latest CMT release v1r14p20030620. Some updates are needed. She is also preparing a web page which documents the patterns and macros.
FRED, HepRep and friends : (Toby, Riccardo) Although not quite in GlastRelease (Riccardo would like to make one last small round of changes) FRED and all the external libraries it depends on have been installed on the UW Terminal Server.
GlastRelease: (Toby) v3r2 is available as of July 19.
Tracker: (Toby, Leon) A temporary glitch in TkrRecon dependencies has been fixed in CVS but not tagged. Leon will tag forthwith.
5 or 6: (Toby, Heather, Bill) Bill suspected that recent all-gamma runs (made since the Workshop, after a couple ACD problems had been fixed) might have been made with a too-small disc of illumination: about 5 sq. m rather than the agreed-upon 6. Toby suggests checking log files, which report this number [From Heather: Post-meeting, this appears to be OK. Log files say 6. The evidence for a too-small number was based on an early incomplete run. The complete run appears to have the correct number of events.]
Where are we: (Toby) We need to include pointing and position informationin our simulation output if we are to correlate (simulated) observations with known sources. We could add the necessary 6-8 quantities to the tuple or alternatively make something with just the proposed Event Database (D1) quantities. (A related issue is: find a method to make it easier to add quantities to the tuple.)
To start with, we can generate a pointing history file (in content somewhat like the proposed pointing/livetime database, D2) with a record for each 30 seconds. For real data, we may want a shorter update interval, but for simulated data, where we can consistently enforce linear interpolation everywhere, the longer interval will do as well as any.
To-do review: At Toby's instigation, we finally re-examined the Action Items. We were able to delete several and update the information in a couple more.
