Bill Atwood has for some time praised Insightful Miner (IM) for its support for categorical variables, akin to the enum statement in C/C++. Since ROOT also allows for such variables in a transparent way, in tuples, histograms, scatterplots, etc.,I have now added the capability to add such variables denoted by C strings (zero-terminated char arrays) to our Gleam environment. If you use ntupleWriterSvc to create ROOT tuples, you can easily add such columns...(Leon) offered to add code as needed to AnalysisNtuple to support the new type.
(Heather) is about done with LdfConverter. One more little thing needs to be committed; then she'll tag it. She also has to make some updates to RootIo to take account of recent changes in other packages.
(Michael) There are currently compile problems, perhaps due to a single package. Once these have been addressed, he'll make a new BeamtestRelease tag.
(Richard) Warren has been instructing Francesco on the Pipeline. Chuck is eavesdropping so procedures can be documented in the Workbook.
(Leon) has put together a job options file which starts with Ldf input; it basically works. He sent it to Perugia, where its output will be used as input for their ROOT macro.
