Present: Arache, Dan, Francesco, Heather, Ian, Joanne, Karl, Leon, Richard, Toby, Tracy, Traudl
PDR Postponed: (Richard, Leon, Heather) It seems the PDR has been postponed until January. There is concern about how this might affect software development. The software must be "frozen" for the PDR. Is this to be interpreted as "frozen until the PDR occurs" or "frozen until we have had a satisfactory PDR run of 50 million events"? The former could be deadly.
Core Report: (Toby) See Toby's writeup, and be sure to follow the link to Bill Atwood's examples of tracking oddities.
Report on Ireland: (Tracy) It's green for a reason.
Linux Build: (Karl) Karl is putting the finishing touches in to make this run smoothly, at least at SLAC. Should be ready later today for the rest of us to try. However, there is reason to believe that remote users may still have problems. Karl will deal with these on an individual basis.
NEWS FLASH This just in: Arache has successfully built pdrApp v6r3.
CMT Checkout Failing: (various) CMT doesn't handle recursive checkout of packages properly: instead of checking out the versions specified in requirments files, it checks out the most recent tagged version. Traudl has heard that this is unlikely to be fixed before v1r10 of CMT. Toby suggests a couple possible palliative measures:
For significant releases provide a tarred/zipped file for distribution.
Analyze the requirements files ourselves and infer the list of CVS checkout commands needed. Ian is already working on a Perl script somewhat along these lines.
Goodbye: (Ian, Dan) Both Ian and Dan will be finishing up approximately this Friday. Just to reiterate the obvious: the rest of us will miss you!
