Present: Joanne Bogart, Toby Burnett, Xin Chen, Richard Dubois, Berrie Giebels, Navid Golpayegani, Heather Kelly, Matt Langston, Dirk Petry, Leon Rochester, Tracy Usher
DC1 news: (Richard) See the current version of the Project file.
(Navid) The last OnboardFilter task, making Filter-found tracks available in TDS, is in progress and will probably be finished today.
(various) Problems Heather encountered in the rush to get a new all-gamma data set to Bill will, it is believed, disappear as soon as a compatible set of packages, probably the ones now in HEAD, are tagged as GlastRelease v3r3p1.
(Toby) CRFlux coding is done, but is not fully tested. Ditto for GlastRandomSvc.
(Leon) n-tuple documentation is proceeding, now on 2nd iteration. At last count there were 210 variables in the n-tuple.
(Richard) Goal for the Pipeline is to have something in place by the end of September which can handle 1 million events. Dan and Alex now have an intermediate goal: to have a design and demonstrate feasibility with at least a trickle of events in three weeks. Meanwhile, Berrie is looking into providing an additional pipeline in Lyon to handle part of the processing.
(Richard) If we trust the OnboardFilter implementation, we end up with a dataset of about 100 Gbytes, an eminently manageable size. If we try to keep everything, it's 6 terabytes. We don't have that kind of space currently and SCS probably does not have it readily on hand to give away; they would have to budget for it. Toby pointed out that the performance of the OnboardFilter can be evaluated with just a sample, and in any case that it is JJ's responsibility.
Related point, not mentioned during meeting: Toby is making a DataChallenge package to hold DC1-related configuration, etc.
EM and EBF library: (Joanne) Heather's additions for reading EM calorimeter data, completed a week or two ago, are tagged but not yet in GlastRelease HEAD. Meanwhile, we have not kept up with the Online EBF library, which had a major release about a month ago and lesser releases since. See this status page for more details.
The full EM, including calorimeter, is just beginning to produce data.
Infrastructure wish-list: Any more suggestions beyond this list? Will schedule a meeting shortly.
