Core Minutes 10/3/2006
Present: Joanne Bogart, Anders Borgland, Toby Burnett,
David Chamont, James Chiang, Richard Dubois,
Warren Focke, Riccardo Giannitrapani,
Berrie Giebels, Tom Glanzman, Navid Golpayegani, Heather Kelly, Michael Kuss,
Claudia Lavalley,
Chuck Patterson, Igor Pavlin, Leon Rochester, Tracy Usher
- L0 Data Simulation: (Heather) Her findings
are nicely summarized in a
Confluence page. [The Workbook contains a nice
overview picture of data flow as L0 gets converted to L1,
but without explicit reference to pointing history.]
(Richard) Running the testbed is mentioned as
part of the procedure. Will we be at the mercy of testbed scheduling to
generate our data? (Bryson) Use of the testbed is not required.
- Data server back-end: (David)
See his
presentation for status and plans. Current round of improvements
should be complete by about mid-October and fully integrated with
new front-end by about the end of the month.
- Galactic cosmic ray calibration:
(Claudia) See her
detailed description of structure and status
of the new code. Expectation is that this code will be put into CVS
by the end of next week.
Richard pointed out that three seconds per event would
be prohibitive if it's for all events, but it should be possible
to filter first. There is a GCR trigger bit available in the TDS.
[From Claudia: the information on slide 12 maybe needs a little clarification.
The numbers of interest here are the averages (last column), which are in
milliseconds. The average time for Cal1:execute is just under 3 milliseconds.]
- They're baaack!
(Riccardo) He is reviewing status of MRStudio, more or less untouched
since July. The core libraries are probably ready to go; he will be
meeting with Marco next week and they will verify that everything works
for Windows, Linux and possibly Mac. Then they will start concentrating
on the gui.
- Announcements (Richard)
