ScienceTools: No report this week.
FSSC: (John) Nothing much to report. There were 50 data requests yesterday.
Documentation: (Chuck) sends the following:
Updates to the 'Software Setup' section of the LAT Science Tools have been completed with the exception of a final review by Tom and Richard of the new "Using the SLAC Batch Farm" page. Basically, I've retained the CMT: sections of the "Desktop Install for Linux and Windows", as well as the "SLAC Public Setup and Environment". I also added links to the new SCons pages and to Tom's page on "Using the SLAC Batch Farm". All of these are now available from the Science Tools Software Setup navbar.
Moving on, a revision to the "CVS Branches in GLAST Offline Software" page will be completed later today, as soon as I finish incorporating Heather's latest changes. I then plan to create a new tag so that Berrie can update the mirror site, after which I'll resume work on the new "rmfit Tutorial".
GR Pass7.2: (Richard) We have a tag (v17r35p0 says Heather). There is one thing left for Marcus to check. Then we need to generate IRFs and reprocess the data, first some smaller chunks, then all of it. (Tom) The first test run with this GR tag is complete.
Tracker: (Leon) The new tracker geometry is complete except for the flexures and alignment hardware at the bottom of the tracker. The ACD is the next subsystem to review.
Leon has tagged cosmetic changes to G4Generator, GlastSvc and TkrUtil that address some printout issues with the new geometry, and add some useful information. They are unnecessary but harmless for the current geometry.
Other updates related to CAL clustering and TEM diagnostic info will wait until the new GR tag has been exercised.
Announcements: Fermi Symposium talk and poster deadline is nearly upon us: Oct. 22nd.
GR (Heather) will bring Leon's updates into a new tag soon.
L1 processing is using tag v15r47p12gr06. Currently they're using the rhel3 build; they expect to move to rhel4 soon. There appears to be no problem using rhel4 for data processing; no further news on anomalies for MC.
obf (Heather) We now have a rhel4-built version. Tracy needs to verify it's ok.
RM and such (Navid) RM is now making 64-bit rhel5 builds of ScienceTools There have been a couple compile problems with ape. The first has been fixed; the second is understood so should be fixed soon.
RM is successfully making mac builds as well. There is a glitch with Tony's installer: it was not proper handling hard links. Tony has now fixed it in CVS, but the fix has not yet appeared in a release. In the meantime, mac users can do the download with RMViewer or just make the hard link manually.
SCons checkpoint release 1.2.0.d20090919 (Navid) The latest checkpoint release of SCons runs fine on Linux and in his Windows environment, but Joanne sees a problem with this release (but not with the previous checkpoint release, 1.2.0.d20090223). (Joanne) suspects it might have something to do with multiple versions of VS (7.1 and 9.0) available on her machine, but so far it's just a hunch.
ASP (Joanne) is starting to look into how to provide the functionality of AspPolicy — namely create wrapper scripts which properly set up environment variables and such for running python programs — from SCons.
@sys (Joanne) A couple months ago I added directories i386_rhel30 and i386_rhel40 to /afs/slac/g/glast/applications/install in order to be able to use @sys to automatically find the correct binary, rhel3 or rhel4, for, e.g. stag. However this had the effect of ruining Flight Software access to some of their tools, as was brought to my attention last week by Tony Waite. Together we worked out a scheme which we believe satisfies everyone's needs. It's been in place since last Thursday.
