Igor Pavlin, Tracy Usher
- Pointing mode simulation: (Toby) See
his write-up for background and status.
- Quaternions: (Toby) Read all about
quaternions and why we can't ignore them. As of GlastRelease v9r18
there is a class
astro::Quaternion with all the services we need.
- L0 Simulation: (Richard for Heather)She
left
some bread crumbs concerning her progress as she makes her way to
Baton Rouge. See the section
Here's what works! Updated Nov 13th towards the
bottom.
- Making a Science Tools distribution(Navid)
has written up
his recipe. He notes that, when the process is slow it's due to the
first (compile) step. It can take a couple rounds to find and fix all
the operating system-dependent compile errors.
- GCR work: (Tracy) Claudia Lavalley has committed
extensive changes, affecting many packages, for GCR. Tracy is trying to
build it on Windows against v9r18. Some problems have been detected
which Claudia will fix shortly. For testing purposes she added some variables
to the merit tuple, but they are no longer needed and some people object to
them so she will remove them. (Richard) Overall, by exercising care
Claudia has kept disruption to a minimum.
- Onboard Filter: (Tracy) He's working on
getting it to go on Windows. He now has access to the Flight Software
CVS repository. It's somewhat frustrating, if understandable, that
there was no action taken by FSW to address any of the Windows issues
in the list he sent them months ago. (Richard) Richard Hughes will probably
be here for the Service Challenge meeting (as will Steve), providing an
opportunity for some face-to-face discussions. FSW is squeezed not only
by time but also by commands from on high that they not change anything
that isn't mission critical.
- Service Challenge (Richard) Tom has
been working on the ObSim run.
(Tom) installed a new version of ScienceTools and the sky model
and got them working with Pipeline 2, but jobs were not running
to completion. It was due to including the moon: jobs were taking longer.
Some thought needs to be given to scratch space.
- Data-server back-end: (Richard) Igor has
made an alpha-release of the new front-end. He and David are in the
process of making it work with the Skimmer.
- News from Udine: (Riccardo)
now has a Mac at his disposal (not Intel-based, but a
recent iBook). He managed to compile the FOX libraries on it.
They're not needed for MRStudio, but will be for FRED.
