Core Minutes 11/23/2004

• ROOT upgrade: (Heather) We're now ready to go on Linux, but there is an unexplained crash on Windows.  She will ask Navid to build the F version (4.00.08F, that is) for Windows to see if that helps; that strategy worked wonders on Linux.
• Alex update: (Richard) He was taken to Stanford Hospital Emergency yesterday after breaking his collarbone at Ultimate.  They set the bone and sent him on his way; he drove himself home to SF! Should take about 8 weeks to heal.
• RM news: (Richard) RM jobs inexplicably stopped running over the weekend.  Alex looked into it some, turned off RM altogether. Navid later re-enabled it, and it seems to be running all right. Speculation is that someone flooded the batch system over the weekend.

  Navid has not yet had a chance to look into build-on-demand script, however he has given Richard a prescription to do it manually which should make it possible to regenerate RM output for GlastRelease v4r5p1.

• G4 plans: (Tracy) We are close to ready to move to 6.2. We need a Linux build of the new library(expecting it from Francesco). When it's available Tracy will tag G4Generator, G4Propagator, and the interface package. Then we could make a release and run System Tests (preferably also incorporating a couple other small fixes already existing on EM branch to OnboardFilter and TkrRecon). This is all independent of Tracker reorganization upgrade, which would take place afterwards.
• GlastPolicy enhancements: (Toby) He removed some obsolete parameters from Doxyfile and changed the script for Windows library builds to delete unneeded (and large) .arc files after dll is built.

• Tracker-only data-taking started: (Richard)  This wasn't exactly smooth. Dan's workaround for late batch log files was only in development, not production.  Dan himself was sick over the weekend.
