Present: Arache, Heather, Ian, Joanne, Richard, Thomas, Toby, Traudl
Gaudi Development: Toby and Heather can get Gaudi v6 to build but it crashes while running. Debugging is made more difficult since the debugger does not get to handle exceptions.
Arache pointed out that we need a Gaudi how-to. Ian and Thomas can perhaps collaborate to write one.
Package Changes: See this message for a complete description of package changes (deleting old, adding new) which Toby is making.
LHCb Presentations: Traudl found several talks from the 6th LHCb Software Week of interest. Online versions are reachable from http://lhcb-comp.web.cern.ch/lhcb-comp/Default.htm (follow link from top line of third table). See her note for specific recommendations.
CalRecon: This new package is under development. The Cal group will take a look at the reconstruction algorithm presently.
Changelog: There is agreement that some automatic way of sorting commit comments by package would be useful. Emacs has a simple way to do this but not everyone uses emacs for editing. Depending on their availability, one or both of Pat Nolan and Thomas will look into options.
On a related topic, Toby requests that the email archive for cvslist be split into old and recent sections since it is large and older items are rarely of interest. (Also for Pat?)
XML/Xerces: Use of a better string-handling strategy has improved things to the point where, on Joanne's PC, writing out the persistency file barely works (or fails to work, depending on what other applications are running and how much memory they use).
Coming Up: We'll be having a workshop at SLAC next week. We should probably plan on attending a balloon meeting on Wednesday afternoon in addition to our other activities.
