Core Issues/Status 20 Nov 2002
Gleam release status
- In spite of determination to make v3 "it", there was v3r1, then v3r2,
then v3r3, and now, v3r4!! Mostly RootIo fixes, but also a fix to the
tracker trigger calculation, but discovered by Richard and confirmed by
Johann.
- Since the release system is not installed, will continue as a "checkout
package" for a short while. This will be certainly disrupted by the Gaudi
transition. [Note added after core meeting: we still plan to make a branch
tag, but the release is a moving target! This can be done at any time, since
we would only apply the branch tag to the CMT-tagged versions.]
Release management
Gaudi v11
- See the transition page for a
complete discussion of the status. In short:
- Gleam, (on Windows with vc6) and all test programs seem to run fine with
the minor mods discussed above. This includes new versions of CLHEP, HTL,
Geant4, AIDA.
- Nothing has been done on linux (gcc3.2) since Michael and Johann's
tests.
- Issue: continue to install the Gaudi packages in our repository, treat
them the same as ours, or: install as an external package.
Software development environment issues
- CMT for linux issue: until now, we have provided little support for the
linux development environment! Now that Marco is helping, there is significant
progress in implementing the "stamps" facility of CMT!
- CMT v1r12p20020606: no reports of problems: now default on GLAST-TS, and
available at SLAC.
- vc++ 7.0. (with Visual Studio .Net): still Real Soon Now, probably this
week.
- gcc 3.2 (reported to be available at SLAC. The minutes will have
instructions on how to compile with it in CMT. I have the following statement
in my .cshrc so that I can invoke egcs in CMT:
Other issues
- calibration
- systests
- new ACD tests installed
on Gleam head
- DPF
