Transition to gaudi v11 and new IExternal container package
-
NEWS FLASH Alex did it: we roll with gcc
2.95.3 (
redhat 7.2)
Need first:
- Create GLAST
distribution of pre-built Gaudi v11r1: binaries for all supported compilers).
[Alternative: instruction on getting from Gaudi distribution, building as
Glast external]
- All other
external libraries installed in SLAC ftp area. (CLHEP 1.8.0.0, etc.) Also in $GLAST_EXT
for SLAC users. [This is already done on glast-ts.]
- gcc 2.95.3
"wired" as default compiler at SLAC, immune to system changes.
Then:
- Each package
author notified about pending changes to requirements files. (They are all
under
GlastRelease )
- Make the
changes. (This Friday?), create new tags, collect into GlastRelease.
- Destroy the
sandbox.
Implemented in CMT v1r12p20020606 (our branch tag) and vcmt v15. (Can't
test the full system since G4 is not available.)
[A little nasty: windows rootcint 3.03/09 crashes with our packages on
glast.epe.phys.washington.edu.]
