G4 status

• G4Generator (Riccardo, Toby)
  • Various properties added to G4Generator algorithm:
    • topVolume
    • visitorMode
    • UIcommands
  • More useful printout: list of logical volumes w/ number of physical volumes; summary of energy deposited per sensitive logical vol.
• detModel (Riccardo)
  • New Shape: Tube!

Prelimiary timing results comparing detModel versions of Gismo and G4: both approx 3/s for 1 GeV normal incident gammas.

Interesting (hot off the press) picture of G4 hits: 1 GeV gamma shower.

Pending changes to environment: will occur after PDR

• CMT v1r10p20011126 (from current v1r7 on Windows, and v1r9p20010927 on linux)

  Provisional mod  to GlastPolicy tested, seems backward compatible. VCMT upgraded.

  Public/private attribute of set has different effect, breaking builds in current code.

   

• Gaudi v8r1 (from current v7)

  Need to switch to in order to update gcc.
