Tracker Status for December I&T Release
Leon: 12/9/2004
Charge injection: targeted for
mid-January.
Work on the charge injection
calibration is coming along. Johann has generated some files of charge
injection constants, but in xml. Joanne has started work on writing the
stand-alone program to convert Johann's xml file to root, and is nearly
finished implementing the code to handle the root file in the database
through the Calib service.
Once the constants are in Gleam,
it is simple to connect them to the existing ToT service.
Tracker cosmic muon calibration:
end of January ??
Leon has just about finished the
mods to Gleam to output charge-injection-corrected ToTs. Next,
the existing calibGenTKR/calibMuonTot needs to be modified to handle
multiple towers. This involves essentially cloning the interface from
calibGenTkr/badStripsCalib, which should be straightforward. But scaling the
current code to the full instrument will require filling and fitting 13K
histograms, which could be straightforward, but maybe not. Finally, the
resulting muon correction constants need to be written out in a root file.
There will probably be 2 numbers per chip, a constant (order 1) and some
sort of quality word, TBD. The experience with the charge-injection root
file will come in handy here.
The database code to handle this
file is a simpler version of the charge injection code, so I'm guessing it
can be written fairly quickly.
Again, once the constants are in
Gleam, it will be straightforward to connect them to the ToT service.
