Present: Arache, Heather, Ian, Joanne, Karl, Richard, Thomas, Toby
Core status: (Toby) See the Core status page for remarks on several items. There was additional discussion on some of them:
New CMT may not be compatible with Windows improvements without some work.
It is desirable to update instrument.xml as soon as possible to include revised numbers for at least some of the more important quantities. Any such revisions to CAL will have to wait somewhat until Sacha can get to it; work on tb_recon has higher priority. According to Heather, the new ACD design is known in a general way, but does not yet have firm numbers. Should be possible to put something together shortly, after Jonathon's return from Japan. TKR numbers should in principle be available from Leon.
Simulation sources: need to add electron albedo as well as proton albedo to the background mix.
Digis: Leon has prototypes for TKR awaiting perusal by Ian. Eric is close to done with his design (a good thing since he leaves for France this weekend).
Balloon support: (Heather)
Event model: Traudl has done some reorganization to rationalize and impose more uniformity on the event model. The question of how to name containers is awaiting resolution. Use of English plurals is problematical since they're often irregular. The suffix "vec" implies, probably wrongly, that containers are always vectors; a more generic choice would be better.
TBIOROOT: (Ian) TBIOROOT can read TB raw root files. The next step will be to get it to output Recon ROOT classes.
Generic XML geometry status: (Joanne, Riccardo) Riccardo will make a report at the Thursday meeting on the progress he and Dario have made. Joanne has enhanced the stand-alone constants-evaluation application somewhat. See the week's geo status page for a bit more detail.
On the subject of materials description Toby expressed a preference for something like the current scheme, in which the geometry description merely contains names of materials. Information about a material, such as its radiation length, is kept in a separate facility. This facility will have to be accessible from G4 as well as gismo, hence may have to change from the current arrangement.
G4: (Thomas) Builds on Windows and unix. Thomas will bundle it up and make it available from the web page for off-site users to pick up.
Production issues: Karl is embarking on coming up with systematic approaches to the following:
release verification
production event generation
production balloon data processing
Requirements review: (Richard) This is coming up on April 18. Richard has already made a first pass at preparation for this. He will be accosting various people for more detail (he doesn't believe we can get by with the few sentences most topics have in his current draft).
