Present: Dan, Heather, Ian, Joanne, Karl, Leon, Malcolm, Richard, Toby, Tracy
PDR: (Toby, Richard) See Toby's summary, part of this week's core report, of the meeting which took place yesterday (Tuesday the 22nd), and Richard's minutes.
UW Server: (Toby) So far it's quite successful. The one worry is that the machine is underpowered. It hasn't been a problem so far but, given the popularity of this approach, it's likely to become one. Files on this machine are backed up; someone should check it out by attempting to retrieve a file from backup
Release Manager: (Karl) The package will be checked in shortly.
TBIOROOT: (Ian) Still a problem child. It probably will need some additions to handle ACD and MC data, but will try to keep additional code to a minimum since ultimately we'll need an entirely different arrangement to handle TBIOROOT's functions. A meeting will be held among interested parties (Heather, Ian, Toby, subsystem representatives). Heather has written up a discussion of options. At the meeting a decision on who will handle the tuple items referred to in this week's Core Report should be made.
MC Classes: (Dan) They're close to ready. Taka has some G4-simulated balloon output in IRF format which can be used for testing.
Detector Description: (Joanne) Revised Calorimeter information including diagrams is in hand and in the process of being incorporated. As the XML files grow in size and complexity it becomes increasingly evident that in the long term we need some interface tools to make maintenance and even comprehension possible.
See the Riccardo's and Joanne's reports on the Detector Description Workshop at CERN which took place on the 22nd.
Server Space: (Richard) We have an additional 800 gigabytes of file server space from the Computer Center. Someone needs to think about the right way to set up permissions; this has been a problem with existing space.
Who's doing what: (Richard) In order to minimize conflicts, in future at each Core meeting everyone will list the packages they anticipate modifying in the next week. Ths week's round-up:
Person | Packages | Remarks |
Toby | trigger | Add algorithms |
Dan | ROOTWriter, mcRootData | MC for PDR, balloon |
Dan | instrument, perhaps digiRootData | These packages provide services to the above |
Joanne | xmlUtil | Modify .xml files, add id dictionary classes |
Karl | releaseManager, dataManager | First release |
Ian | TBIOROOT | See discussion above |
Heather | ROOTWriter, ACDRecon, ReconRootData | ACD for PDR, balloon |
Heather | glastmedia | ACD support structure |
Heather | GlastEvent, GlastSvc | - |
Tracy | TkrRecon, maybe GlastSvc | - |
Leon | GlastSvc | class TdSiData |
Leon | TkrRecon | classes TkrGeometrySvc, SiClustersAlg |
Leon | glastmedia | classes Tray, SiTrackerMed, TowerMed |
Leon | instrument | instrument.xml, class SiTracker |
Packages mentioned more than once appear in red.
