Present: Joanne Bogart, Toby Burnett, Xin Chen, Richard Dubois, Marco Frailis, Riccardo Giannitrapani, Traudl Hansl-Kozanecka, Heather Kelly, Michael Kuss, Francesco Longo, Sean Robinson, Leon Rochester, Karl Young
Gleam status: (Toby) Highlights from the detailed report include
Riccardo's work on an intermediate McParticle tree. Scheme is in place; just need to tag accompanying version of Event. Would like a more robust way to deal with one messy issue: When a particle travels from CAL to TKR, need to know point of transition. For now crossing point is taken to be Z=0, which is fine for standard flight instrument but not correct in general.
Last minimal tuple items. (Leon) has an appropriate calculation for REC_Surplus_Hit_ratio; needs to be incorporated properly. Inputs include "corrected energy". The thing we have now fulfulling this rôle should be verified. REC_Tkr_SkirtX and REC_Tkr_SkirtY pose no particular problems. Need to find out what TKR_xeneXSlope, TKR_xeneYSlope are.
Randoms: (Karl) Got hung up on a couple little things, but resolutions are in sight. Should be wrapped up and checked in to the repository by the end of the week.
Leakage correction work: (Richard) In the course of trying runs at several angles and energies, verified Bill Atwood's observation that lower energy gammas don't interact as frequently as expected, and the effect becomes stronger as energy decreases. Work by Francesco indicates that Geant4 agrees with Geant3 and they both are modelling the physics correctly to within errors; it's the expectation that was wrong! Meanwhile, as a diagnostic tool, collaborated with Joanne to build an xml description for a slab of arbitrary size and material. Work on a suitably equipped accompanying userAlg is in progress; hope to have it ready by the end of the week.
Gleam User's Guide: (Heather) Some items, most notably source description by Toby and Sean, have been done. Others have at least been assigned:
provide an easy way to see all job options (Karl)
ROOT output classes: what's in them and how to access them (Heather)
using the event display (Joanne)
description of geometry and example of user modifications (Riccardo)
description of UserAlg and accessing TDS (Eduardo)
Any more volunteers? Start by looking at the current version of the Guide.
