MRStudio: (Riccardo) As you can see, the MRStudio gui differs from MRvcmt. For one thing, editable panels are distinguished from (read-only) info panels. As with MRStudio, you may choose a preferred editor. There are still some problems on Linux having to do with the graphics; they should be understood and fixed soon. The Windows version is ready for beta testing now, though it will become more interesting when compilation is supported.
(Richard) What about Mac support? (Riccardo) DataMind has another project using Macs, so they will be available for testing and development of MRStudio and FRED. The FOX library may be a problem. It does not use native Mac graphics; only X.
One-year ObSim run: (Richard, Julie) It was supposed to have begun by now, but there were various snags. Now we just need a Science Tools tag with the right stuff in it. And some thought needs to go into post-processing, e.g. to get livetime right. (Tom) is poised to use Pipeline 2.
Hand-off IRFs: The 60 million-event all-gamma run is done. Other runs needed for the IRFs will be done this week.
One-day Gleam run: (Richard, Joanne for Heather) Heather is writing the code which will consume XML files constructed according to the schema Dan designed to specify event selection parameters. She is believed to be well on her way after a couple hints from Joanne on XML processing.
GCR work: (Tracy) It's ready to be checked in. The original plan was to put it in the CVS users area, but there were difficulties (how to use user ought to be in the Workbook but isn't) and anyway the code is stable enough to go into a regular package.
Simulating level 0 data: (Richard for Heather) All the pieces (including such things as FSW compression code) are ready to make a level 0 file. She is making good progress on extraction of pointing history.
astro: (Toby) The motivation for updating the package was to use quaternions internally to represent RA and declination, however in the end astro underwent a full refactoring.
Line-mode RM: (Navid) Commands will include turning RM on and off, tag promotion and deleting old builds. Some are already done; he expects they all will by the end of the week.
Data-server back-end: (David) Igor should be ready with an example front-end this week. Meanwhile David is working on documentation.
System: (Richard)
- Oracle outage is scheduled for today
- Extended power outage is now scheduled for Dec. 12-15, two days for SCS 1st floor and two the the 2nd. We have servers on one and disks on the other, so operations will be crippled for the entire period.
- Disk crunch LAT muon runs have been devouring 4 TBytes/week. At that rate we'll have nothing left by Xmas. It is possible to make these runs without most-likely-unnecessary debugging/diagnostic information, in which case only about 0.8 TBytes are used, but there isn't any guarantee it won't at some point become necessary. Richard has made a request for another 50 TBytes of disk.
