Root 3.0 Checklist

 

The following lists all the components that need to be checked before the conversion of the Glast code to Root 3.00.06.  

X - For regular Glast CMT packages, a check mark indicates that the package compiles with the new Root, and that any test programs execute properly; the meaning of other check marks depends on what the component is.

TBEvent (v1r4) X X Updates were required to solve the warnings produced in ROOTWriter.  Here is an explanation.
ROOTWriter (v2r5p1) X X The test program executes, but produces a lot of warnings.  Fixed by updating TBEvent (see above).
tb_recon (v1r3) ? X  
DbCnv (v3r2) X ? Needed minor changes (done by Heather).  Here is the explanation.
TBIOROOT (v1r1) X X No modifications were required
RootHistCnv (v1) X ? No modifications required on Windows.  Here are the results of a test.
Does Root2IDL work? DW ? old problems upgrading to Root 2.25 or Root 3.00.06...under investigation - but this should not stand in the way of upgrading.
Do the Analysis Macros work? (ie, the RootAnalysis package) X X with root 3.00.06

 Two problems
  1. Need to load the Root Physics library explicitly, before loading the TBEvent shareable.  FIXED by Thomas!
  2. When opening the root files created by the RootWriter test program, errors ensue.  FIXED - see the following explanation.
Are there any problems with the standard analysis and plotting tools for Root 3.0 ? ?
